Intermediate database software class offered

An intermediate Microsoft Access course will be offered on May 25 from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at Chippewa Valley Technical College’s Business Education Center, 620 W. Clairemont Avenue, Eau Claire. Jeffrey Koenig will instruct participants in the use of queries, criteria, comparison operators, sorting, joined tables, calculating fields and statistics and grouping. Local Family physician achieves life membership

Romulo M. Sanchez, M.D., FAAFP, a family physician from Cadott, has achieved Life Membership status with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). The AAFP recognizes family physicians who have distinguished themselves through service to family medicine and ongoing professional development.

To achieve AAFP Life Member status, a family physician must be a continuous member for a minimum of 20 years, demonstrating dedication to continuing medical education family medicine.

Crescent Meats earns quality awards

The exceptional quality of meat products produced by Crescent Meats and Catering of Cadott was recognized at the 68th annual convention of the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors, held in Madison in April. At the Meat Product Show held in conjunction with the meeting, Crescent Meats and Catering LLC received the following product awards:

Fresh Bratwurst in the class of Traditional Brats, Reserve Grand Champion Award; Fresh Pineapple Bratwurst in the class of Specialty Brats, Reserve Grand Champion Award; Appalachian Jerky, in the class of Whole Muscle Jerky, Champion Award; Corned Beef in the class of Cured or Smoked General Meat Cuts, Champion Award.

The Wisconsin Meat Product Competition is the largest of its kind in the United States. Meat processing plants and meat markets from throughout the state this year entered 870 individual products into 36 product categories.

Electric workers honored with Meany Award

Journeyman Electricians Patrick Kline and Daniel Dienger, members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 14, have been presented with the prestigious George Meany Award.

The George Meany Award is organized labor's highest recognition for service to youth in conjunction with the Boy Scouts of America.

The award is given by the Eau Claire Area Labor Council to recognize union members who perform outstanding service as a volunteer scouting leader. The presentation was made by IBEW Local 14 President Wayne Geist who extended his congratulation to Patrick and Daniel on receiving this award. President Geist also thanked the members for their many years of volunteer leadership and their significant contribution to labor and to scouting.

Patrick and Daniel are employed by Roshell Electric of Chippewa Falls.

Heyde Health System acquires five facilities

Dennis L. Heyde, President of Heyde Health System, has announced the completion of a transaction to acquire three facilities the company has been leasing and two new facilities.

The leased facilities are: Family Heritage Care Center-Black River Falls LLC, a 50-bed nursing home; Parkside Residence, a 32-bed assisted living facility; and Sharpe Care, a 115-bed nursing home.

Heyde Health System also purchased Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer, a 30-bed nursing home and 15-bed CBRF, and Rose Garden in Bloomer, an 18-unit assisted living facility.

Heyde Health System owns and operates 11 facilities and has its corporate offices in Chippewa Falls. Heyde Health System is owned by Dennis and Carol Heyde.

American Family honors Schlosser

Agent Paul Schlosser of Chippewa Falls has received the prestigious Elite Farm/Ranch Insurance Agent award from American Family Insurance. He joins a group of American Family agents who achieved outstanding expertise in the area of farm/ranch insurance. Schlosser has been an agent for American Family since April, 1997. His office is located at 502 North Bridge Street in Chippewa Falls.

Chippewa Falls native joins Luxemburg Bank

Danielle Bruley has joined the Bank of Luxemburg’s Human Resource Department.

The Chippewa Falls native obtained her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a Human Resource Management emphasis as well as minors in Psychology and Human Development from UW-Green Bay in 2006. Her educational experience includes the completion of two Human Resource internships, one with the City of Green Bay and the other with a local financial institution.

Family member returns to Rassbach Realty

Rassbach Realty LLC, a Menomonie family owned realty firm has welcomed back Jill Rassbach Pember.

Pember has worked for Ford Motor Co. in a marketing capacity the past eight years to gain outside word experience. It was important to her to keep the family tradition alive started by her grandfather, Tib and continued by her father, Nick Rassbach.

Geissler sells Chem-Master to employees

Eugene Geissler finalized the sale of Chem-Master Inc. this spring to partners Gary Olson, Ken Sandel and Cory Sisk from . Geissler purchased Chem-Master in 1996 from Steven Poppe. Chem-Master was founded in 1981 by Jeff Rye.

The new partners all started at Chem-Master as service technicians, Olson and Sisk in 2001 and Sandel in 1997. The new owners carry numerous certifications in cleaning, restoration, and air duct cleaning as do their technicians.

Chem-Master offers carpet, furniture, drapery, blind and air duct cleaning. They also specialize in complete restoration.services including water, fire, smoke, and other personal property losses. With offices in Eau Claire, Shell Lake and Ashland, the new owners are excited to be expanding.
