Writer, marketer and reluctant farmer Lucie B. Amundsen will speak about “Connecting with your Consumers and Middle Agriculture” during a Thursday, Nov. 9 event in Menomonie hosted by Dunn County Farmers Union, Just Local Food Cooperative and Menomonie Market Food Co-op.
Amundsen and her husband co-own Locally Laid Egg Company, a farm that provides pasture-raised eggs in Northern Minnesota and partners with seven other mid-level producers. A former contributor to the Minneapolis Star Tribune and former editor at Reader’s Digest Association, Amundsen has written for scores of publications in her decade-plus freelance career. She’s also authored a narrative nonfiction, Locally Laid, about her farm startup horror show and the stressed economics of Middle Agriculture.
Amundsen’s talk will be from 6-8 p.m. at Micheels Hall 290 at UW-Stout. Reserve your free ticket at http://bit.ly/2yYS7AY. Special thanks to UW-Stout sponsors greensense and Sustainable Stout.
