Main Street of Menomonie, Inc. announces the hiring of Dustyn Dubuque as its new executive director, Dustyn Dubuque, a position that has been open since June. He began his new post on Wednesday.
A Dunn County native, Dubuque is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he received a master’s degree in public history and nonprofit management. Most recently, he was employed at the Dunn County Historical Society and Washington County (Minn.) Historical Society, where he honed his experience in event planning, programming, and fundraising.
During his time at the DCHS, Dubuque developed and implemented multiple events to raise awareness of the organization, including Ghosts of Dunn County, Old Fashioned Fourth, and the annual summer Show Me Fridays for kids.
A Boyceville High graduate, Dubuque says he enjoys the unique experiences downtown Menomonie has to offer: “Menomonie has a vibrant mix of shops, restaurants, breweries, events and entertainment. My goal is to build on the previous successes of Main Street Menomonie, while bringing something new and fun to the position. Promoting pride, growth and enjoyment for all of our downtown is my top priority, and I look forward to working with local businesses to make that happen.”
When not on the job, Dubuque can be found listening to music, reviewing movies for The Dunn County News, or playing vintage base ball with the Menomonie Blue Caps.
