Adeline A. Kothlow, 88, of Menomonie passed away Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at Birchwood Cottages Assisted Living in Owatonna, Minn.
Adeline was born July 10, 1929, in Dunn County, Wis., to Albert and Lizzie (Schrader) Ponto. She was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonie. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1947.
On March 12, 1951, Adeline married Kenneth “Pete” Kothlow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Together they lived and framed in the Town of Red Cedar.
Adeline enjoyed playing cards and she loved spending time with family and friends. She will be sadly missed.
Adeline is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Brad) Olson of Owatonna, Minn., and Lynn (Joe) Garcia of Sylmar, Calif.; three grandchildren, Andrew (Tara) Olson, Laura (Chris) Millar and Sarah Garcia; six great-grandchildren, Ava, Connor, Chloe, Kyleigh, Camryn and Jacob; a brother-in-law, Clarence “Jack” Kothlow; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pete; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Brett Voigt officiating. There will be visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in the spring. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.
