COLFAX — Earl “Bud” Wait, 92, of Colfax passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire.

Bud was born Oct. 16, 1925, in Menomonie to Charles and Lettie (Anderson) Wait. He graduated from Aggie High School with the Class of 1943. He married Geneva Harland July 29, 1947, in Rockford, Ill. Bud was a member of General Labor Union and the Rod and Gun Club. He served on boards for Dunn County and town of Tainter. He was a member of Norton Lutheran Church all of his adult life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, traveling, shooting pool, and helping his neighbors with mechanical projects.

Bud is survived by six children and their spouses, Beverly Jean Anderson, Harvey Clyde Wait, Rose Elaine (Chuck) Klatt, Ginger Lea (David) Wheat, Annie Marie (Randy) Siler, and James Earl (Joyce) Wait; 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Bud is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Geneva; his parents; brothers, Clifford (Irene) Wait and Roy (June) Wait; son-in-law, Raymond Anderson; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Thu Wait; and two infant great-granddaughters.

Donations are preferred to Norton Lutheran Church, E6806 State Rd. 170, Colfax, Wis. 54730, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 Railroad Ave., Colfax, Wis. Private burial will be at Norton Lutheran Cemetery.
