STILLWATER, Minn. — Gordon R. Hoffmann, 77, of Stillwater died Wednesday morning, Nov. 29, 2017, surrounded by his wife and children in the comfort of his home.
Gordy was born Aug. 24, 1940, in Turtle Lake, Wis. He graduated from Turtle Lake High School and received degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in chemistry and mathematics, as well as BBA from the University of Minnesota. Gordy served in the U.S. Army during years 1964 and 1965 where he held a position with top clearance at the U.S. Pentagon during the Vietnam War. Gordy married his wife, Lynda (Lund) of Menomonie Nov. 25, 1967. Together they had three children, Jennifer (Rudh), Jim, and Andrea (Johnston). Gordy worked in the accounting field where he was securities and investment licensed and specialized in tax and financial planning. He loved family, farming, and football.
Gordy is survived by wife, Lynda (Lund); and his three children, Jennifer (Chris Rudh), Jim (Kristi Schmidt), and Andrea (Jeff Johnston).
A private family service is planned from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, Minn., followed by a public celebration of life open house at Olde Towne Banquet Hall in Menomonie.
Memorials are asked to be made to the National Ataxia Foundation, or the UW Eau Claire John Kell Football Endowment.
