It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Catherine (Rasmussen) Hemauer, 63, announce her unexpected passing Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.
She was born March 2, 1954, to Melvin and Shirley Rasmussen in Menomonie. On Nov. 7, 1969, she married the love of her life, Randy Hemauer. They settled in Menomonie where they raised their three children.
Mary spent most of her life as a dedicated wife, mom, and grandma. She worked from home as a childcare provider for over 40 years. She touched so many lives over those years.
Mary lived for her family. Her kids and grandchildren were her greatest joys of her life. She enjoyed bringing her family together and watching her grandchildren play sports.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Rasmussen.
She is survived by her husband, Randy Hemauer, and their three children, daughter, Colleen (Kevin) McCoshen, son, Darren (Ginger) Hemauer, and daughter, Tracy Hemauer. She has six grandchildren, Ian, Mary, Allyson, and Grace McCoshen and Elle and Kierce Hemauer; mother, Shirley Rasmussen; brothers, David(Marilyn), Doug, and Charles; sisters, Ruth (Ken) Abramson, and Jean (Dennis) Repaal; brothers-in-law, Ron (Kathy) Hemauer and Brad (Debbie) Hemauer; sisters-in-law Karen, (Donald) Glaser and Rhonda (Randy) Severson. She also has many nieces and nephews that loved her.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec, 22, at Little Elk Creek Lutheran Church with Pastor Dale Moe officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Sunset Cemetery, Prairie Farm, Wis. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
