WHEELER — Rhinehardt L. Knutson, 88, of Wheeler died peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at Dallas Care and Rehabilitation.
He was born in Dunn County Jan. 30, 1929. He was the 12th child born to Ole and May Knutson. Rhinehardt married Arlys Harmon Nov. 27, 1948, at Eau Claire and they had six children. Rhinehardt started working on the farm at a young age. He then went on to hauling milk and to driving semi-truck coast to coast. In 1970, he purchased a farm in Dunn County where he pursed his dream of farming until he retired at the age of 65. He enjoyed a life of working and taking summer trips to Balsam Lake for fishing with his family. During his retirement, Rhinehardt spent time with the love of his life, his wife Arlys.
He is survived by his children, Kathleen Andersen, Wanda Knutson, Cynthia Peer (Gregory) and Dawn Bradley; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rhinehardt was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arlys (June 28, 2010); sons, James and Ralph Knutson; and a granddaughter, Hope.
Funeral services will be (were) held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Hay River Lutheran Church, rural Wheeler, with the Rev. Loren Barker officiating and interment following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be (was) held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.
