Robert James Werner, 94, of Menomonie passed away peacefully Monday, April 16, 2018, at The Neighbors of Dunn County.
He was born on July 27, 1923, in the township of Weston, Dunn Co. Wis., to Matthew and Mary (Frank) Werner, the youngest of nine children.
On Sept. 6, 1948, Bob married Virginia Poeschl at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle.
Bob spent his life in the Weston Valley farming, logging and raising his family. He was a member of the Rotary Club and until not too long ago would never miss his morning “coffee clutch.”

In his later years he was an avid golfer. Bob and Ginny enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Arizona. Bob loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he especially loved holding the babies.
Bob is survived by his wife, Ginny (they would have been celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary Sept. 6); their children, Steve (Pat) Werner, Ed Werner, John (Laverne) Werner, Scott (Jane) Werner, Sue (Dan) Ducklow, Randy Werner, Sara Omann; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth; stillborn son, Jerad; and eight siblings.
