Ruth E. Kothlow, 82, of Menomonie passed away Saturday, March 11, 2018, at her home.
The former Ruth Owens was born Aug. 26, 1935, in Eau Claire, Wis., to Arthur and Mabel (Whitney) Owens. She attended Ninth Ward Elementary School in Eau Claire, Waneka Grade School and Dunn County Aggie.
On Oct. 22, 1952, Ruth married Russell Kothlow in Menomonie. They raised their family and farmed in the town of Spring Brook, Dunn County. Ruth loved the outdoors and wildlife and she enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing Bingo.
Ruth is survived by her seven children, Janice (Richard) Williams, Susanne (Kenneth) Satter, Duane Kothlow (Lorie Jones), Brenda Williamson, Linda (Gary) Lierman, Eugene Kothlow and Connie (Daniel) Meyer; 13 grandchildren, Tina (Dave) Edwards, Jodi (Ben) Jaussi, Tamera (Kyle) Knutson, Dawn (Ryan) Ullom, Bryan (Mindy) Williams, Darcy Kothlow, Denise (Pete) Loy, Eric (Bobbi Jo) Lierman, Kyle (Lexi) Williamson, Cory Lierman, Gwendalynn (Tim) Budzinski, Logan Meyer and Abbigail Meyer; 23 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Tiernee Knutson, Katelyn, Jack, Emmie and Nate Edwards, Kyndi and McKennon Williams, Madisyn and Brielle Bauer, Gracie, Kenzie, Kayla and Tyler Loy, Rope and Whip Jaussi, Jackson Ullom, Gavin, Harper and Grant Lierman, Sylas and Devyn Williamson and Blake Budzinski; a sister-in-law, Eileen Stark; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; and siblings, Fred Owens, twins, Marvin Owens and Margerie Pate, Lillian Carter, Ruby Trapp, Jeanette Poquette, Delores Field, and infant brother, Howard Owens.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Larry Borner officiating. There will be visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Spring Brook, Dunn Co., Wis.
