Ruth E. (Wangen) King, 84, of Menomonie passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie.
She was born March 31, 1933, in Eau Claire, Wis., to Joseph and Ruth (Miller) Wangen.
On June 9, 1951, Ruth married James King in Menomonie, where they have lived and raised their family.
Ruth worked in the kitchen at St. Joe’s and supervised the playground while the kids were in school. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at St. Joe’s. Ruth enjoyed playing Bingo, doing crossword puzzles, ceramics and going to the casino.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Jim of Menomonie; sons, Donald (Janice) of Delavan Wis., Michael (Lisa) of Andover Minn., Timothy of Menomonie; a brother, Donald (Carrol) Wangen of Rothschild, Wis.; and sister, Grace Trudell of White Bear Lake, Minn.; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ruth Wangen; sisters, Elenore Kothlow and Mary Jo Trudeau.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 16, at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Father James Kurzynski officiating. There will be visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery in Menomonie at a later date.
