MENOMONIE — Stacy L. “Steinmeyer” Bixby, 55, of Menomonie passed away Friday, Nov. 03, 2017, at MCHS-Bloomer from metastatic breast cancer.

Stacy was born Sept. 21, 1962, in Menomonie, the first of three children to Paul and Ilene Steinmeyer. The family farm in Weston was a part of her life until the age of 13. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1981.

As a youth, she was involved with Knights Creek 4-H Club and crafted many projects for the Dunn County Fair. These crafts included crocheting afghans, baking, sewing, macramé, and leather.

Stacy began employment with 3M in Menomonie in June of 1988 under the sons and daughters program. She was hired fulltime in May of 1989 by Pete Hendrickson as a twister operator. In 2001 she transferred to Personal Care where she worked with making diaper tape. Of her 28 years of employment at 3M, Stacy enjoyed her job and working with the employees of her department.

On Sept. 18, 2010, Stacy married Brian P. Bixby at an outdoor wedding chapel in Eau Galle.

Stacy enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting during the gun deer season. She got her first deer during the 2015 hunting season. She was a board and club member of the 3M Club, Irvington Booster Club, Kanda Kruisers and Menomonie Sno-Blazers Snowmobile Clubs, and Downsville Sportsman Club.

Stacy is survived by her husband, Brian P. Bixby; her son, Kyle (Ashley) Polus; stepchildren, Lindsey and Sawyer Bixby; awesome granddaughter, Alyssa Polus; her mother, Ilene Steinmeyer; brother, Shawn Steinmeyer; sister, Shantel (Tony) Rogers; father and mother-in-law, Forrest and Connie Bixby; brother-in-law, Scott (Toni) Bixby; Justin May’s fiancé, Mandi Flick; and great-nephew, Lincoln. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, Lilly, Connor, Chloe and Miranda.

She was preceded in death by her father Paul; grandparents, Ole and Viola Steinmeyer and Reuben and Iona Siewert; and nephew, Justin May.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at New Hope Lutheran Church in Downsville with Pastor Dale Moe officiating. Burial will take place at St. John’s Cemetery, township of Menomonie, Dunn County. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
