Accompanied by videos of each honoree, an additional nine awards were presented at the 79th annual Menomonie Area Chamber of Commerce banquet on Feb. 7. Seven of the honorees can be seen here in all their smiling glory. The two who were not in attendance and not pictured are Honorary Lifetime Member Sandy Ott and Joe Holland who was named the Chamber’s Friend of Tourism.
Ott has been a Chamber member since the 1970s. She first owned a shoe store in town with her late husband, then ran a successful ladies clothing store for 20 years prior to retiring. She has been an advocate for local commerce and given her time and talents for many years, one of which was serving as a prior board of director for the Chamber of Commerce.
As a Friend of Tourism, Holland has continually set the bar by promoting tourism and its economic impact in our community. From his time teaching at UW Stout to his time chairing the Tourism Commission, he has been dedicated to creating the Menomonie Area as a sustainable destination through a variety of avenues that impact businesses large and small.
