Council approves hike in parks & rec fees, poll location change
The Menomonie City Council unanimously approved the Parks and Recreation’s request for modest increases in many of the fees and charges for its programs and services. In many cases, it’s been 10 years since prices have gone up, and others haven’t been altered since 2002 or 2003.
On Monday night, the council learned that some fees will remain unchanged. In most cases, however, the increases will range in the neighborhood of an additional 50 cents up to $5 or $10.
The adjustments are needed to fund wage increases to staff the programs offered by the department.
The council also approved changing the polling place for Wards 1 and 2 and the 18th Supervisory District to Christ Lutheran Church, 1306 Wilcox St. The change was recently approved by the State Elections Board.
