A former babysitter faces allegations of sexually assaulting two girls while in his care.

Dang Hang, 31, 3003 Wilson St., Menomonie, faces one count of first degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13 years of age, and one count of child enticement.

According to the criminal complaint:

The incidents were alleged to have taken place between Jan. 1, 2001 and Dec. 31, 2007. A girl told Menomonie police that when she was between the ages of 7 and 10, her parents would leave her and her siblings at home with Hang in order to go out with friends.

Hang would tell the boys to go outside and play, but would make the girls go into a room to sleep and would come into the room and fondle himself when the girls were supposed to be asleep. The victim said all the girls were shaking and scared of him.

On one instance shortly before Halloween, she said Hang told her she could have some candy if she came with him. When she did, she said he raped her.

In another instance, she said Hang blindfolded her before he assaulted her.

The girl told police she grew up “thinking that it was normal for that sort of stuff to happen to her.”

Hang told investigators that he remembered playing house with the girls who lived at the house, specifically playing husband and wife with them. He also recalled undressing in front of them and said he may have exposed himself, but denied that any sexual intercourse took place.

While admitting to several fondling instances, Hang denied having sex with any of them and said they had possibly exaggerated some of the incidents.

After setting a $1,000 signature bond, Dunn County Judge James Peterson set a pre-trial conference hearing for Jan. 23.
