Menomonie P.E.O. Chapter DD recently presented a P.E.O. International Program for Continuing Education (PCE) grant for $2,000 to Kelly Bien, who returned to the University of Wisconsin–Stout this fall after 19 years. She is majoring in Human Development and Family and is enrolled in the Social Work Certification program.

P.E.O. Chapter DD submitted a grant request to the national organization after being inspired by Bien’s story, which demonstrates a commitment to family, faith, service to others and continuing educational development. A full-time working mother with four children and Music Ministry Coordinator at the United Methodist Church, Bien works for the School District of Greater Menomonie Area.

The PCE grant is for a female student who has returned to complete her education after being out of school for two years, who is within two years of completing her education, and whose completed education will lead to employment or job advancement.
