Party? What party?
A noise complaint in the 1900 block of Second Street East in Menomonie on March 2 resulted in three citations for furnishing alcohol to underage individuals. Ethan J Bauman, 24, James Sheperd, 21, and Joseph Spanel, 22, of Menomonie received the citations after two underage individuals admitted to drinking beer at the house where 66 people were counted leaving from the basement and at least another 20 vacated the upstairs — after Shepard told police everyone was gone.
An outbuilding in the N9600 block of County Highway K in Boyceville became fully engulfed in flames on March 2. The building, which contained hay bales and was used to shelter horses, also contained a heat lamp used for warming chicks, which may have caused the fire.
Salvaged aluminum stolen
A black 2002 Pontiac Grand Am with Minnesota plates was spotted leaving Kadinger’s Auto Salvage in the N9900 block of 130th Street in Downing, with an estimated $700-800 worth of aluminum. Two male suspects were believed to have made off with at least one radiator along with other components.
A 23-year-old Menomonie man shot himself in the hand on Feb. 25 after testing out his new 9mm handgun. The man had finished shooting and was trying to lock part of the gun when his hand slipped off the slide and the gun went off. He wasn’t sure how the gun fired, but the bullet went through a fleshy part of the palm and did not hit any bones.
