Take flight with Aviation Art contest

Young artists, ages seven to 17, are eligible to win an airplane ride or art supplies by showcasing their artistic talent in the 2018 Aviation Art contest. This year’s theme is “Flight into the Future” and artists are encouraged to illustrate their vision of what new innovations and ideas will shape aviation of the future.

Entries are first judged on the state level on the creative use of the theme. State winners will be displayed in the Wisconsin State Capitol and receive the following prizes:

  • First place: $100 art supply gift certificate or an airplane ride for the winner and a guest
  • Second place: $75 art supply gift certificate
  • Third place: $50 art supply gift certificate
  • The top three entries in the three different age divisions will advance to the national competition, with the potential to be entered in the international aviation art contest.

All artwork must be original and cannot be computer generated. For complete contest rules and entry form, visit wisconsindot.gov/artcontest. Entries must be postmarked by Jan. 19, and mailed to: Meredith Alt, WisDOT – Bureau of Aeronautics, 4802 Sheboygan Ave., Room 701 Madison, WI 53707-7914.
