The Dunn County Partnership for Youth (DCPFY) is sponsoring a “What’s in Your Gummy?” media campaign on the effects of marijuana edibles. The campaign kicked off with a billboard — located at the corner of Broadway and Elm Ave West in Menomonie — asks the question: “What’s in Your Gummy? Be Aware of the Effects of Edible Marijuana.”
Based in the Prevention Program at Arbor Place, Inc. in Menomonie, DCPFY (dcpfy.org) is a countywide coalition that works toward promoting safe and healthy communities for youth.”
Prevention Manager Kathy Asper notes that the legalization of medical and recreational marijuana in a number of states has brought with it a whole new market for marijuana edibles. “Not much is currently known about the risks and consequences of using these items, but our prevention staff has done extensive research to find helpful information for persons of all ages. We’re updating the website as we find new research.”
