UW-Stout’s leading scorers were both selected to the 2017 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Soccer Team.
Junior forward Sydney Kasper (Owatonna, Minn) and freshman midfielder Kaitlyn Hess (Wisconsin Rapids/Lincoln) were selected to the honor team.
Kasper earned her second consecutive selection to the All-WIAC team, finishing second on the team in both goals scored (6) and assists (5) to finish with 17 points. Kasper’s 0.30 goals per game ranked 10th in the WIAC, as did her six goals. Kasper currently has 20 career goals, tying her for seventh on the UW-Stout all-time list.
Hess led the team in goals with seven and total points in 18, finishing with four assists. Hess ranked eighth in the WIAC in goals scored and was ninth in goals per game (0.35). Hess found her collegiate scoring touch late in the season, scoring three goals and an assist over the last four games.
Both Kasper and Hess finished with three game-winning-goals.
The Blue Devils finsihed the season at 9-6-5 overall, 3-1-3 in the WIAC and advanced to the semi-finals of the WIAC Championship.
