Long time coach, Joe Doucette, of Colfax, will be honored later this month at the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association’s (WBCA) Hall of Fame banquet on Sept. 30 in Wisconsin Dells. Doucette is being inducted into the 2017 WBCA Hall of Fame as a “High School Coach”.
Doucette has been coaching basketball at Colfax High School since 1990 and holds a 531-108 record with 19 Dunn-St. Croix (DSC) conference titles, 12 regional titles and three sectional titles. Doucette also teaches elementary physical education in Colfax.
During his time at Colfax, he was able to coach his three daughters, Courtney, Sam and Mallie, for a nine-year period. His wife, Tracy, has been considered to be the backbone of the basketball program. As a key supporter since the beginning, she has contributed countless hours of fundraising and running concession stands.
Over the years, Doucette has worked with many talented student athletes, their families and an array of dedicated youth and assistant coaches, to which he said he would like to share the award with: Bob Fehr, Carl Rudi, Pat Quimbly, Andy Fjelland, Mick Hover, John Dachel and Courtney Doucette.
“They have all been great to work with and spend time with and, together, many great memories have been made,” Doucette wrote.
Coach Doucette thanks the WBCA for this award and is humbled for the recognition.
