Menomonie’s baseball team traveled to Wisconsin Rapids on April 27 to take on Marshfield in a doubleheader. The Mustangs rebounded from an 18-1 loss in game one to earn a 7-3 game two victory.

Mitch Stai was Menomonie’s shining offensive light in the game one loss as he hit 2-for-2. He did, however, take the loss as the first of four Mustang pitchers.
Tanner Path scored Menomonie’s lone run on a fifth inning passed ball. Menomonie finished with five hits.

The Mustangs’ bats came alive in game two, as Menomonie coach Mike King said their approaches at the plate greatly improved. And with his pitchers commanding the strike zone and defense turning three double plays, the decisive comeback came to fruition.
AJ Naatz recorded three of Menomonie’s 10 hits in the game, going 3-for-4 with a triple. Terrin Vavra smacked a double and picked up two RBI. Nate Stanley smoked a two-run homer.
Naatz got the win, scattering three walks, four hits and three earned runs in three innings.
Coach King said he was pleased with how his team adjusted mentally.
