Colfax’s baseball team picked up its first win of the season on Monday with a 9-6 victory over Eau Claire Immanuel at Carson Park in Eau Claire.

After falling behind 2-1 in the first inning, the Vikings rallied back to take a 4-1 lead in the second and never looked back.

Ethin Kiekhafer recorded singles in his first three at bats and finished the day 3-for-4. Nate Liebfried hit 2-for-4 with two runs and finished his offensive day with a double and the game’s final run - in the sixth inning. Collecting the remainder of Colfax’s nine hits were Michael Hover, Austin Lee, Logan Mittlestadt and Jeremiah Wait.

Three pitchers found their way to the mound for Colfax as Kiekhafer got the win. Kiekhafer struck out two batters, walked five and allowed four hits and six runs in 3-and-a-third innings. Hover pitched three innings, striking out eight, walking two and a giving up on hit. Sawyer DeMoe struke out two batters in two-thirds inning.
