The Dunn County News’ own Jay Gilbertson, columnist of the Books on Review series, recently released his newest book, Full Moon Over Madeline Island. The novel is the latest installment in his Madeline Island series.
From dialogue to character description, the chapters take readers on a ride through time, family relationships, changes, surprises and even Eau Claire areas.
A native of Eau Claire, and graduate of UW-Stout, Gilbertson lived in Florida for a time, then Minneapolis, where he owned Jay Gilbertson Salon — which is where he picked up on writing from the woman’s perspective and found inspiration for the female voices in his books. Now, in addition to writing, he is a farmer and beekeeper in Prairie Farm, and he and his partner produce pumpkin seed oil.
The author held a book signing in Prairie Farm on Dec. 16. A portion of the proceeds from book sales went to the Prairie Farm Food Pantry and the Prairie Farm Students in Need Program.
Full Moon Over Madeline Island is available at www.jaygilbertson.com, or amazon.com. To purchase an autographed copy, call 800-928-7145 to make a check or credit card payment.
Gilbertson says he hopes to have a book signing at the Menomonie Public Library in the near future.
