Midwest Winds

The Midwest Winds woodwind quartet will perform Nov. 9 at UW-Stout.

The Midwest Winds, part of the United States Air Force Band, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at UW-Stout’s Harvey Hall Theatre (721 Third St. E., Menomonie)

Admission to the concert is free and tickets are not required. Presented in partnership with the UW-Stout Symphonic Band, the event is for all ages.

The Midwest Winds woodwind quintet is an ambassador of the Air Force Band of Mid-America, featuring professional musicians to honor the work of the Air Force and to honor the country. The group offers a wide range of musical literature, including classical, contemporary, marches, patriotic crowd-pleasers and light popular music.

Located at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., the ensemble is committed to honoring veterans and active duty military members in 10 Midwest states.

Other upcoming musical performances on campus are the Blue Devil Jazz Orchestra, 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in the Great Hall of the student center; Symphonic Singers and Chamber Choir holiday event at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church; and the Symphonic Band winter concert, 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3 in the Great Hall.
