The Menomonie Theater Guild will hold auditions for its holiday show, “A Charlie Brown Christmas” by Charles M. Schulz, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 9 and Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the MTG Studio (502 W Second St.)
The classic animated television special A Charlie Brown Christmas comes to life in this faithful stage adaptation, in which Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the Peanuts Gang discover the true meaning of Christmas.
There are 25 roles (11 main cast roles and 14 chorus roles) for children ages 6-13. Information about specific roles and lines to be read at auditions can be found at the Menomonie Public Library.(Those under 8 years will not need to read lines.)
Children should come to auditions prepared for light movement and a short vocal exercise consisting of well-known Christmas carols. Callbacks, if needed, will be Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 6 to 7 p.m. Email questions to director, Katie Shay, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Performance dates are Friday, Dec. 1 and Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 2 and Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 3 and Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. All performances are held at the historic Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts (205 E. Main St., Menomonie).
