This weekend the Chippewa Falls High School Music Department will present three performances of “Aida” featuring music and lyrics by Elton John and Tim Rice.
Nubian princess Aida cannot help but form a strong connection to her country’s sworn enemy, an Egyptian army captain, Radames. But Radames is a pawn in his father’s plan to succeed the Egyptian throne by marrying princess Amneris, who he does not love. Will the love story of Aida and Radames eventually bring peace to the fighting kingdoms?
The musical is directed by Wayne Marek of the Eau Claire Children’s Theater. All tickets are reserved seating. Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens. Tickets may be purchased at Gordy’s Country Market in downtown Chippewa Falls and Mega Foods in Chippewa Falls. Or, tickets may be reserved by calling the high school music department at (715) 726-2406, extension 1422.
Preceding Saturday’s performance, the high school’s orchestra department is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner in the high school cafeteria. The Chi-Hi Wire Choir, along with other orchestra ensembles, will provide music throughout the dinner. Cost is $6 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and students.
