Ava Brawdy, a senior, was chosen for Science Student of the Month by her Human Anatomy and Physiology teacher, Tami Slowiak. “Ava has had a strong start to the school year," Slowiak said. "Her interest and understanding of the Anatomy/Physiology material is evident. She is a kind, helpful student who deserves the recognition of student of the month. Well done, Ava."
Brawdy selected Slowiak as her most influential teacher. “Ms. Slowiak is by far one of the best teachers I have had,” said Ava. “ She always strives to not only teach to the best of her ability but to also make learning something everyone can enjoy."
Her future plans involve attending Winona State University for nursing and continuing her education to become a nurse anesthetist or a nurse practitioner. Brawdy is the daughter of Rick and Kelly Brawdy.
