LAKE DELTON — The Post-Crescent of Appleton took daily newspaper of the year honors Friday in the annual newspaper contest of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association.

The Prescott Journal was the weekly newspaper of the year.

The newspapers scored the most total points in the daily and weekly divisions of the WNA contest. Points are awarded based on the number of first, Second: and third-place finishes in each of the contest categories.

The WNA is comprised of the state’s daily and weekly newspapers. Contest winners were honored at the association’s annual meeting.

The daily newspaper division is divided into three groups. Group A is newspapers above 35,000 circulation; Group B is newspapers between 15,001 and 35,000 circulation and Group C is newspapers below 15,001 circulation.
