As more children reach for the Internet, a technology their parents didn’t have while growing up, Internet safety has become a concern.
An Internet safety session focusing on children will be held Thursday night.
Topics include local online risks, chatting, instant messaging, cyberbullying, social networking, Web pages and online predators. Presenters will show parents how to track their child’s Internet use and the signs that their child is the victim of an online predator.
All families are encouraged to attend the meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Chippewa Falls Middle School auditorium.
The session is being presented by the Chippewa Falls School District, Chippewa Area Catholic Schools, Parents 4 Learning, the Chippewa Falls Police Department, the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department, the Wisconsin Department of Justice and Rutledge Charities.
