A body was found in a burning vehicle in a ditch in Rusk County Tuesday evening, the Rusk County Sheriff’s Department said.
According to the department:
A burning car in a ditch on County D, about a tenth of a mile east of County F in the town of Rusk, was reported at 6:09 p.m. Tuesday.
The vehicle was engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived. The fire was extinguished and the body was then found.
No foul play is suspected in the person’s death. The identity of the person who died is being investigated by the sheriff’s department and the Rusk County Coroner’s office.
Besides the sheriff’s department, the Weyerhaeuser Fire Department, Bruce Ambulance and Rusk County First Responders responded to the scene.
