Eau Claire County has closed its snowmobile trails a few days after opening, though area riders can still hit trails in Chippewa County.

Eau Claire County has closed all of its snowmobile trails Wednesday due to lack of adequate snowfall. The trails were opened in the county on Saturday.

In Chippewa, the following trails remain open as of Wednesday afternoon:

- Trail 18 between Trail 33 east to Old Abe Trail and the Crosscut Trail, and all trails south of those.

- Trail 33 from the intersection of Trail 18 to the intersect with Trail 18 west to access Dunn County trails.

- The Old Abe Trail is open south from Cornell to access the open trails, however the trails north, east or west of Cornell are not open.
