CORNELL — Betty A. Capek, 85, of Cornell passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at the Cornell Area Care Center.
Betty was born the daughter of Frederick and Ellen (Chevrier) Polzin Feb. 6, 1932, at home in the town of Arthur. She moved to Cornell in 1936 and attended school there, after she moved to Madison, Wis. and worked at the Rayovac Battery Co. On Sept. 11, 1954, Betty was united in marriage to Francis Capek in Nashua, Iowa at the Little Brown Church in the Vale. They resided in Cornell where Betty was a full time house wife and assisted her husband working in the woods.
Betty is survived by her sons, Terry (Kay) Capek, Scott (Sharon) Capek, and Francis Capek; grandchildren, Christina, Kevin, Heather, Tyler, Danielle, and Elisha; and seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis; and two sisters, Melvina and CeCelia.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at the Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell, with Scott Capek officiating.
Interment will be at the Cornell Cemetery following services.
Visitation will be held noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
