Elva Mae Ryan, 102, of Chippewa Falls passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at the Rutledge Home, Chippewa Falls.
She was born on May 22, 1915, to Albert and Cora (Wilcox) Gladwell in the Town of Wheaton.
She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1933.
Mae worked at the Chippewa Falls Woolen Mill until she married Lawrence “Pat” Ryan Oct. 26, 1935. They lived in the Cadott area and later moved to Baraboo, Wis. and Rockford, Ill. Pat passed away Sept. 8, 1971. Mae moved back to Cadott in 1977, and worked for the Chippewa County Office on Aging for ten years. On May 22, 1984, she married Harold Metzenbauer of Cadott. Harold passed away Oct. 1, 2002.
Mae is survived by three children, Larry (Hazel) of Loretta, Wis., Charles (Fran) of Roseberg, Ore., and Carol (Keith) Folkman of Ames, Iowa; and two stepchildren, Lois Krall of Altoona and Detra Hanscom of Eau Claire; stepdaughter-in-law, Cathy Metzenbauer of Chippewa Falls; eight grandchildren; and thirteen step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and special family friend, Patty McDonell of Chippewa Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; an infant son, James; and two stepchildren, Bill Metzenbauer and Judy Guckenberg.
A service of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at the Leiser Funeral Home, Cadott, with Deacon Ned Willkom officiating.
Inurnment will be in the St. Rose Cemetery following the services.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Thursday morning at Leiser Funeral Home.
