Gregory S. Fiedler, 61, the funniest man he knew, died at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017.
Born in Portsmouth, Va., to Nancy (Calkins) and Walter Fiedler. He was raised in Chippewa Falls, where he attended Chippewa Falls High School. After high school he earned a degree in micro precision, becoming a fifth generation watchmaker, following in the footsteps of his father and forefathers. As the digital age came in, Greg went into food and beverage management, working in many restaurants and deli’s. Gregory had a passion for music and photography, finding the beauty from the oddest things. In 2004, he married the love of his life, Kelly (McBride) and was also “united as one” with her children, Mary Ralph, Daniel Ralph and Susan Ralph. Along with his wife and children, Gregory is survived by his mother, Nancy Ducklow of Chippewa Falls; brothers, Steven (Karla), David both of Chippewa Falls; best sister, Susan Glaeser (Keith Roiger) of Mound, Minn.; uncle to Shana Fiedler-Anderson (Craig), Stephanie Fiedler, Brenna Glaeser, Maddi Glaeser and many more; nephew to Alan Calkins, Felicia (Duane) Thomas, Mary (Ed) Bunde and the late Joanne “Bunny” Griffin.
Preceded in death by his father, Wally Fiedler; stepmother, Karen Fiedler and Keith Ducklow.
A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at the family home, located at 902 Macomber St. Friends are welcome.
