Joan C. Furst, 72, of Chippewa Falls died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Joan was born Sept. 28, 1945, in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Fliehr) Olesky. She was a member of Notre Dame Church, the Secular Franciscans, the Senior Center and AARP.
Joan graduated from CVTC in data entry and account clerk. She started the Separated, Divorced and Remarried Christian Group in 1980. She loved reading, shopping and her family and was a devout Catholic.
Joan married James W. Furst at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Chicago, in 1966, they later divorced. She had worked at an insurance company.
Joan is survived by one son, David (Sarah) Furst of Eau Claire; two daughters, Ann Marie (Colin) Wright of Eau Claire and Karen (Lee) Mooney of Holcombe; and three grandchildren, Lucas, Levi and Kayla.
Joan was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ann, in infancy; her parents; and one grandson, Colin Mayfield Wright Jr.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Jesse Burish will be celebrant of the Memorial Mass. Burial of cremains will be in Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls.
