DODGE CENTER, Minn./EAU CLAIRE — Mary Kaye Livingston, 62, of Dodge Center, formerly of Eau Claire, passed away in the early morning hours Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at her home in the presence of family.
Mary was born Sept. 26, 1955, in Eau Claire, third of eight children, to Ronald and Marie (Jorgenson) Mayer. She attended Memorial High School in Eau Claire where she graduated in 1973. She married Gene Livingston at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Eau Claire May 15, 1976. Together, they raised four children.
Mary and Gene moved from Eau Claire to Rochester, Minn., and then to Dodge Center, Minn., where they resided for 37 years. She worked as a bookkeeper for McNeilus Auto & Truck Parts for most of the last 20 years and ran the household for the past 40 years. Mary loved dolphins and she decorated her home with their images. Mary also loved to visit Maui with her family whenever she could. She enjoyed cooking and baking some of the best food around, going to movies, reading books, watching her Minnesota sports teams, and biking with her Cycling Sisters. She had an iron will and was fiercely devoted to her family and friends, and was always diligent about remembering birthdays and holidays.
Mary is survived by her father, Ronald of Eau Claire; her husband, Gene of Dodge Center; her sons, Matt (Amy) of Minneapolis, Minn., Aaron of Stewartville, Minn., Marc (Jean Beverly) of Bloomingdale, Ga.; her daughter, Gena Livingston of Las Vegas, Nev.; one newborn grandchild, Alexandra Rose; sisters, Jean (Jay) Nispel of Hanover, Md., Nancy (Ron) Reidel of Eau Claire, Rhonda (John) Jackson of Dousman, Wis., Joyce (John) Reidinger of Chetek, Wis.; brothers, Peter of Newington, Ga., Paul (Lori) of Round Rock, Texas, Michael of Glen Burnie, Md.; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, special friend, Jill; and friends. She will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Marie.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester, Minn. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to the Wild Dolphin Foundation (http://www.wilddolphin.org/) is suggested.
