BLOOMER n William E. Gordon, 80 , of Bloomer passed away Friday, Feb. 29, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born on June 21, 1927 in Murray, Wis. to Wallace and Agnes (Doege) Gordon. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He was a member of the Bloomer American Legion, St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Lifetime member of the Illinois Police Association and the Wisconsin Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff Association. He also was an Honorary Citizen of Boys Town in Nebraska. He retired from International Harvester in 1979.

He married Lorraine Leonhard on Aug. 18, 1948 at Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church in Ladysmith.

He is survived by: five children, Robert (Jackie) Gordon of Elgin, Ill., Stanley (Carol) Gordon of St. Charles, Ill., Sharon Fromm of Bloomer, Katherine (Charles) Galauner of Elburn, Ill. and James (Janice) Gordon of New Auburn.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Lorraine; brothers, Irvin and Lynn Gordon; and sisters, Irene Hershey and Janet Leonhard.

Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Bloomer with Father James Arthur officiating. Burial will be at St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery, Bloomer.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the Schriver Funeral Chapel, Bloomer and until the time of the service on Monday. There will be a 7:30 p.m. Christian Wake Service Sunday at the funeral chapel.
