Chippewa Falls police say a teen is responsible for the break-ins of more than 30 vehicles on the city’s West Hill area during the past two to three months.

Police say Andre J.P. Demers, 18, of 318 W. Elm St. was arrested on a series of charges, including:  two counts of theft; felony bail jumping; possession of drug paraphernalia; and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

He was also was cited for violating driver’s license restrictions; failing to obey a traffic officer; speeding; driving without a valid license; and driving without insurance.

“Demers was on both felony and misdemeanor bonds for various cases,” a press release from the police department said Monday.

Police are asking anyone, but especially West Hill residents, to contact the department if their vehicle was broken into the last two to three months and property was taken.

“Our department will be in possession of property known to be stolen; however, the identity of the victim owners of this property is unknown,” the department said.
