Prisoner accused of sexual assault in Chippewa County

An inmate at the Racine Youthful Offender Correctional Facility is accused of three felony counts of second-degree sexual assault in the town of Wheaton.

Charges were filed against Daniel R. Raether, 20, whose address is listed in court records as 3262 90th St.

According to a criminal complaint:

Raether is accused of forced sexual intercourse, intercourse with an intoxicated person and  with an unconscious person on Feb. 18, 2008.

A woman said she had quite a bit of alcohol to drink and was on a bed with a female friend. When the woman woke, she said Raether was raping her.

If convicted, Raether faces a $100,000 fine and 40 years of prison on each charge.
