Mariucci Arena Saturday

The Badgers play Minnesota at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis on Saturday.

MINNEAPOLIS — It has been 17 years since the University of Wisconsin men's hockey team was in first place this late in a season, and Saturday's game at Minnesota (7 p.m., FSW+, 1310 AM) will determine whether the Badgers will stay atop the standings.

The Badgers pulled into a tie with the Golden Gophers at 33 points with a 3-2 victory on Friday, but coach Tony Granato said afterward that his team would have to be better Saturday to have a shot at a sweep.

Saturday's victor will take the Big Ten lead into the regular season's final two weeks, and the teams are sending out largely the same lineups as they did Friday.

The only change is in the Badgers' net, where Matt Jurusik takes his regular Saturday turn in the rotation, replacing Jack Berry.
