Chippewa County's two state-ranked volleyball teams earned No. 2 seeds in their respective divisional postseason brackets, according to brackets released on Wednesday by the WIAA.

McDonell, the second-ranked team in Division 4 in the latest Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association state coaches poll, and Bloomer, the eighth-ranked team in Division 2, will each open the playoffs at home after earning No. 2 seeds.

The Macks will host No. 15 New Auburn in the Division 4 regional quarterfinals on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Bloomer earned a bye and will host the winner of Tuesday's No. 7 Prescott/No. 10 Amery meeting two days later in the Division 2 regional semifinals on Oct. 19.

Chippewa Falls earned a No. 9 seed in Division 1 and opens the postseason on Oct. 19 at No. 8 Marshfield.

Stanley-Boyd is a No. 5 seed in Division 3 and hosts No. 12 Neillsville/Granton in a regional quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday while No. 15 Cadott plays at No. 2 Stevens Point Pacelli on the same night.

In other Division 4 matchups, No. 7 Lake Holcombe hosts No. 10 Prairie Farm on Tuesday with the winner advancing to face the winner of the McDonell/New Auburn meeting. No. 13 Cornell plays at No. 4 Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran.

All regional quarterfinal matchups statewide take place on Tuesday with regional semifinals two days later on Thursday, Oct. 19. Regional finals will be played on Saturday, Oct. 21 with regional champs advancing to sectional play on Oct. 26 and 28 with the state tournament taking place Nov. 2-4 at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
