The Stanley-Boyd Orioles football team will hit the road for the first time in this year's WIAA Division 5 playoffs when it plays Amherst on Friday evening at 7 p.m. at D.C. Everest High School in Schofield with the winner moving on to the state title game.

The winner of Stanley-Boyd/Amherst will face the winner of Kewaunee/Lancaster on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 4 p.m. for the state championship.

The Orioles (12-0) advanced with a 28-3 victory over Bloomer on Friday night at Chapman Park. Amherst (11-1) defeated Stratford 21-7 on Friday night and is the defending Division 5 state champion. Stanley-Boyd has made five appearances in the state title game and last went to Madison in 1996.
