John A. Swan

John A. Swan, 40, of 2103 S. Broadway St., Menomonie was charged Oct. 23 with second-degree sexual assault of a child.

A girl under the age of 16 told a Dunn County social worker that while she was sleeping at a Menomonie residence on Oct. 8, Swan pulled her clothing down, touched her sexually and made her a sexually graphic offer, according to a Dunn County Circuit Court criminal complaint.

Swan sent the girl’s mother a text message Oct. 11 “apologizing and explaining why he is a predator,” according to the complaint.

At the time of the incident, Swan was free on bond in a misdemeanor domestic-disorderly conduct case, according to which Swan was not to commit any criminal acts.

Swan pleaded guilty to second-degree sexual assault of a child on Oct. 29; a charge of misdemeanor bail jumping was dismissed.

His sentencing is set for Jan. 15, 2019.

Judge James M. Peterson ordered a pre-sentence investigation be done.

An Elk Mound man has been charged in Dunn County court with sexually assaulting two minor females in 2017 and 2018.

Dylan Reidel, 21, of 312 W. Menomonie St. has been charged with three felonies: two counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child and repeatedly sexually assaulting the same child.

A girl under 16 told the Colfax Police Department that Reidel had sexually assaulted her in 2017, according to a criminal complaint.

The girl said Reidel had intercourse with her after she told him to stop, according to the complaint.

About a year later, Reidel groped the girl and tried to touch her sexually, according to the complaint.

Another girl under 16 told authorities that she and Reidel had intercourse in July 2018.

Reidel told police he had intercourse with the first victim while he was 20 and she was under 16; he also said he had intercourse with the second victim, but he “ended the relationship” when he found out her age, according to the complaint.

An arraignment has been slated for 8:30 a.m. Dec. 3.
