Wisconsin's former Secretary of Agriculture, La Verne Ausman of Elk Mound, will be honored during the 43rd annual Eau Claire Farm Show this month. Ausman will receive the &#8220Aggie Award” on the opening day of the show for his more than 50 years of service to farmers and agri-businesses.

The Eau Claire Farm Show is one of the longest-running farm shows in Wisconsin. Show dates are Tuesday, Feb. 28, and Wednesday, March 1. The event will be held inside the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center and will feature 150 company displays of farm and dairy equipment. Daily show hours are 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Other opening day events include an ag skills contest and crop judging by the Chippewa Valley Technical College. High school students will compete in three agricultural areas. Winners will be announced at noon just prior to the Aggie Award presentation.

Wednesday's special feature will include an auction for the FFA Foundation. The auction will begin at noon and continue until all items are gone.
