“Participate for Your Community-Participate for the World” is the rally-cry for the Menomonie Area CROP Walk, Rock & Roll being planned for Sunday, Oct. 9, starting at the 1st Congregational Church, 420 Wilson Ave., at 1:30 p.m. More than 20 area churches and groups are recruiting participants for this 35th annual event.
The local CROP Walk, Rock & Roll builds community as people of all ages and faiths come together with their commitment to stop hunger. Participation options include the Hunger Parade – 1 mile; walking—5 miles; biking – 10 miles; and rocking—1 hour.
The CROP Walk, Rock & Roll is an event that Menomonie Area Bread for the World is sponsoring to alleviate hunger near World Food Day. Each participant collects pledges and sponsors.
This year’s fundraising goal is $12,000 with three-fourths shared with hunger fighting agencies worldwide and one-fourth going to the Stepping Stones Food Pantry of Dunn County.
