Rotary Club of Menomonie presents youth volunteer service awards

On April 5, the Rotary Club of Menomonie has announced the spring recipients of its Rotary Youth Volunteer Service Awards. President-elect Michelle Dingwall and Youth Service Award Chair Joe Zydowski presented the awards to two students who exemplify leadership and service to others.

Ally Heidorn, the daughter of Chad and Nancy Heidorn, is a senior at Colfax High School. Her teacher, Lisa Neuberg, introduced Ally as a leader in FCCLA winning awards at both the state and national levels. She is active in basketball, cross country, and track while still finding time to provide hundreds of hours in volunteer service including service projects in FCCLA and teaching swimming lessons.

Kelsie Lyall, the daughter of Craig and Teresa Lyall, is a senior at Menomonie High school. Her teacher, Tim Miller, introduced her to the club. Kelsie has more than 340 hours of volunteer community service documented by MHS. She has coordinated blood drives, taught hunter safety courses, is active in her church youth service projects, is a certified nursing assistant, and volunteers as a certified trainer of service dogs.
