A community stakeholders group has scheduled two open houses to discuss plans for revitalizing downtown Menomonie.

The public is invited to the design proposal meetings Thursday, April 14, at the Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts, 205 Main St. The open houses run from 3-5 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m., with presentations at 3:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.

At the presentations, design consultants will explain preliminary redevelopment proposals. During open houses before and after the presentations, the public can explore additional design concepts, provide feedback and ask questions of the consultants and steering group members.

The Redevelopment Steering Group sponsoring the meeting is a collaborative effort of the University of Wisconsin-Stout, city of Menomonie, Dunn County, Dunn County Economic Development Corporation, Greater Menomonie Area Chamber of Commerce, Main Street of Menomonie and WestConsin Credit Union.

The group’s goal is to define a comprehensive and market-driven strategy to revitalize downtown Menomonie.
