Corey Hein has received the University Staff Employee Appreciation Award for April at University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Hein, of Menomonie, is a police officer for University Police.

Hein’s nomination stated: “Corey has served the university for over 25 years and has always been willing to step in wherever needed. Corey has become known as ‘Officer Corey’ to the children that attend the Child and Family Study Center. He routinely visits and has proven to be a great example to them and the community.

“Corey is always willing to step up to the plate and do the right and next thing. His concern for the safety of the UW-Stout campus community is a high, first priority.”

Chancellor Bob Meyer presents each winner with a certificate of recognition, a UW-Stout coffee mug and a check for $100.
