Man dies in town of Grant

A late Saturday afternoon house fire in the town of Grant has resulted in the death of the man who lived there.

According to the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, the E-9-1-1 Center received the report of the fire on Dec. 30 at 4:53 p.m. In addition to deputies, the Colfax Fire Department responded to the home on County Highway W, while numerous other fire departments provided mutual aid.

Firefighters located and removed the body of the sole occupant of the residence. His name is not being released pending notification of his family.

The cause of the cause and the man’s death is under investigation both the Sheriff’s Office and Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office.
